How are you settling into Cambridge, and what has been most memorable/interesting/unexpected so far?
|
Why did you choose to study an MPhil in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies? What are your research interests?
After completing a taught Master's in Buddhist Meditation with a Minor in Yogic philosophy at the SOAS University of London, I delved deeper into the philosophy, literature, and culture of ancient Asia. Currently, at Cambridge, my research focuses on the 7th Century Indian literature, exploring ‘the perception of Knowledge’. |
What are your plans post-graduation?
|
What advice do you have for other fellow refugees / young people from disadvantaged backgrounds?
A former classmate’s advice “Do your best and leave the rest” reminds me that while it is good to plan and be prepared, it is also important to stay flexible and resilient when things do not go as planned. Also, as my mentor wisely shared about turning obstacles into opportunities, success hinges on three Ps — Patience, Passion and Perseverance. |
