Regional Early Childhood Development Research

Picture
Picture
Quantedge Advancement Initiative has joined several other Asian philanthropists and organisations to support a regional landscape study on early childhood development. Coordinated by the Asia Philanthropy Circle, the research is being conducted by the Centre for Evidence and Implementation (CEI).

The landscape study reviewed parenting and early childhood programmes and policies for children aged 0 to 6 years in China, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore. Nutrition, health, water and sanitation, education, and social protection are domains critical to early childhood development, setting the foundation for a child’s lifetime success. By focusing on these domains, the research provided insights on the effectiveness of existing early childhood interventions, and identified gaps and opportunities in the sector.

Findings from the research will guide funders in making crucial sector investments and support policymakers in implementing effective policy and programme development. Through supporting such research, we hope to advance the understanding of the early childhood development landscape in the region and improve early childhood development outcomes in the long run.

The landscape study was completed and released in July 2023. Access the report here.
