The UBS Accelerate Collective
The Accelerate Collective is a three-year programme that harnesses the tools of social finance to bring in much needed funding to improve health and education outcomes for children living in vulnerable communities in the world. It adopts a purpose-driven approach and focuses on generating measurable social impact alongside a financial return that is ploughed back into other impactful social programmes.
Developing countries face an annual financing gap of USD 2.5 trillion in meeting the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Philanthropic funding alone is not sufficient in addressing this gap.
Developing countries face an annual financing gap of USD 2.5 trillion in meeting the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Philanthropic funding alone is not sufficient in addressing this gap.
To bridge the substantial financing gap, the Accelerate Collective uses innovative, blended financing mechanisms, deploying philanthropic capital to crowd in private capital to collectively fund and scale health, education, economic empowerment, and environment programmes with measurable social outcomes under a pay-for-success model. Such an approach will also enable scarce public and development aid funding to be used more efficiently to replicate and scale these transformational initiatives globally.
