UC Berkeley Quantedge Presidential Chair in Economics
To support world-class research in addressing emerging challenges and driving innovation in the field of economics, we have established The Quantedge Presidential Chair in Economics in the College of Letters & Science, at UC Berkeley. Professor Yuriy Gorodnichenko, the first professor to be appointed to the chair, has a strong research focus on monetary policy, specifically, how monetary policy should respond to developments in the economy to improve welfare and the channels through which monetary policy can affect the economy.
In addition, we had established the Quantedge Award for Academic Excellence to recognise exceptional, sustained academic excellence among senior students in Berkeley. Over the course of the award's run, nearly 450 seniors were recognised.
