Empowering children from low-income families with a "home away from home" — where academic support meets socio-emotional growth, so every child can thrive.
We strive to equalise access to quality care, education and developmental opportunities for all.
Children and youths from low-income families face multiple challenges, putting them at a disadvantage at the outset. Some may lack of a conducive learning environment, parental resources or access to opportunities to develop holistically and excel academically.
We share CampusImpact’s belief in creating a safe, nurturing and empowering space for these children so that they can achieve their full potential.
Quantedge Foundation is supporting the Study Buddy pilot programme at Marsiling ComLink to provide children and youths from rental flat communities “a home away from home” – a place where they are supported in their studies, can develop important life skills and discover their strengths. Besides academic guidance, a strong focus is placed on the development of socio-emotional competencies through a values-based curriculum and experiential learning.
CampusImpact adopts their CARE approach in ensuring that the needs of these children and youths are met with targeted interventions. For beneficiaries who require further care and support, CampusImpact will conduct clinical interventions such as counselling and therapy sessions, house visits and/or cross agency collaborations.

As part of ComLink, the programme also seeks to empower families by better understanding their needs and aspirations and connecting them to the right services that can provide the necessary support.
Outcomes
Since its launch in April 2021,

26 children and youths have been supported and observed to demonstrate improvements in participation, engagement and pro-social behaviours, based on feedback from their parents.

16 families have been supported through referrals to ComLink for further assistance across areas such as financial assistance, remote learning and family support

98 house visits conducted.
Study Buddy Plus has been successfully replicated in Admiralty ComLink as of July 2022.
